Phantasm
Reviewed by "The Mystery Reviewer"I was very disappointed with "Phantasm". Maybe because it was hard to follow. I felt like the story was moving too fast, and I didn't know where I was. [Or maybe because I watched bits and pieces over a 3 day period?] Some parts shouldn't even of been in this movie. After all, Don Coscarelli written, directed, co-produced, photographed, and edited "Phantasm" all at the age of 21!
Two teenagers break into a mausoleum to investigate some odd happenings and find a bizarre world, presided over by "The Tall Man" [a memorable-looking fellow]. It's full of unforgettable images, including a sinister hearse and a deadly, flying silver ball! "Phantasm" is a toss-up on how good this film really is. It has it's cool moments with the killer silver ball, but for only a minute. Other scenes were boring and kept repeating itself. It seems like I'm the only one who didn't enjoy it, but see for yourself on what you think of "Phantasm".
