Porcelain Jar

New flesh joins us now, while old flesh drips away,
Lessons to be learned now hunting for their prey.
I watch you all the time, running quickly through the years,
I watch you fade away, I choke back bitter tears.
Darkness creeping up on us we cant conceal our fate,
It's looking for you now, you know you can't escape.
Locked up in your cage, you try to break the bars,
Darkness sneaking in, etching bloody scars.
I've watched you from a distance, but closer than we know,
I've dreaded this moment all my life, at least you've watched me grow.
Tears welling in your eyes, nothing to be said,
You've wasted it all, given up, all ambitions dead.
You've paid your final respects, now say your last good-byes,
Lying in the cold, you now prepare to die.
