Bram Stoker's Dracula

Probably one of the best Dracula movies made.

While I don't care much for the Jonathan Harker character's acting, the rest of the film was both beautiful and haunting. It has such layers of detail that repeated viewings often reveal new subtleties missed before. For example, watch Dracula's shadow whenever it is around. It is almost another character all by itself.

Dracula has a great mixture of beauty and horror, sexiness and repellence. His character is simultaneously noble and depraved, and you can find yourself loathing him while seeing him as a tragic figure as well.

This film is a keeper. Run out and get the tape or DVD.
