Insomnia
How can I miss, I thought... This film stars two of my favorite actors!
Boy was I wrong.
Insomnia actually almost put me to sleep. The pacing is uneven, but pretty slow for the most part. And the situations and backgrounds of the characters leaves you feeling like you don't really care about either of them. Once that happens, the movie is a goner. You have to have someone to root for. In this case, pretty soon, you realize that you don't care if Al Pachino or Robin Williams live to tell about it.
Despite my disappointment, the movie is quite well crafted and photographed, and in a sense, Al Pachino and Robin Williams are both do a fine bit of acting. In my case, it is the material they have to work with that is the problem.
Only rent it if you want to see either of these fine actors doing some good acting excerises.
