Matrix Reloaded
It's kinda' like liver... People either love it or hate it. There just doesn't seem to be much in between.
If you saw and understood the first Matrix, and if you happened to catch that animated short "Last Flight of the Osirus", then you are in good shape to follow Matrix II. If not, or if your friends convinced you to go even though you are more of a "Bridges over Madison County" type, you will be utterly lost. Dazzled, perhaps, but clueless as to what the storyline is.
Personally, I loved it. Not as good as the first movie, and saddled with a "To Be Continued" cliffhanger ending reminicient of the second Star Wars movie (Episode 5), it is as good as it probably could be. But this is no movie for new comers. It does have some good twists and turns, and in the end, you start doubting things you once held dear. But that is part of the movie magic... to make us think and doubt.
I look forward to the final installment this November.
