I have mixed feelings about this movie.

It is truly a good, chilling horror flick that will mess with your head. There are at least two great jolts that are so well crafted that they hit you hard with an adrenaline rush, then tops it off with a goosebump chill... a sign of a really GOOD scare. Then the story line itself is enough to make you remember it for days later as you go about your usual business... a phone rings and you think twice before picking it up... you examine your dreams more closely... etc. (The only movie to top this one in chills in the last six months was Jeepers Creepers.)

What I am a bit twisted about is that I know quite a bit about the Mothman story and all the surrounding events. And the movie changed some significant parts to make it a better movie.

OK, so I can agree with the changes from a cinematic perspective... but it still galls me that now the public has a very off-kilter view of the real events. Oh well, no big deal.. Ignorance is bliss.

Anyway, this is a nice scary movie. Your date will hold your hand tight, and the popcorn may end up on the floor. Go ahead, see the movie and enjoy some really nice moviemaking, and pretend it doesn't have anything to do with the Mothman.
