The Pledge
The Pledge is a strange little movie, with an unconventional, un-Hollywood ending. Well directed and acted, this is a flick that will make you uncomfortable. The main character is likable and seems to have a long-term agenda... or does he? Where does motivation end and obsession begin?
The imagery is graphic, but not so much for what they show, but for what they imply. You walk away feeling you have seen more than you actually have. The disturbance factor is high for both the crimes that were committed, and for the subsequent actions, and inactions, of our "hero".
Worth a trip to the theater if you are looking for something "heavy" and worthy of some thought.
