Star Wars Episode 2 - Attack of the Clones
Star Wars is not a scary movie. I realize that. And I don't expect it to have any Chills or even Disturbance. But I do expect it to have lots of Eyeballs.
I was wrong about the Eyeballs.
Episode 2 is a disappointment. Oh, don't get me wrong, it is another George Lucas masterpiece, to be sure. But I guess my expectations were too high. Part of it has to be that we all know what is going on here and who everyone is. Knowing that Anikin will become Darth kinda takes the suspense out of it. And it is a bit of a downer to know that "Bad Things Will Happen" to the Princess, etc.
The acting in this one is not great, but who can compete against the special effects anyway?
I'll be sure to see Episode 3 when it comes out, but more out of duty and a desire for closure to the story, rather than any real sense of enthusiasm... at least not like I had after the original Star Wars (Episode 4) hit the screen many years ago.
But then again... Maybe George will surprise me again.... Nurse Spasm says that George is a strong Opener and Closer... and his movies in the middle are just so so.
We shall see see.
