The Cell
This film can be tough to watch for some. It is a compelling mixture of incredible visual imagery, and unbridled human depravity. Beauty and horror, side-by-side. There are scenes of incredible visual texture that will leave you gasping, yet the elements of physical and psychological torture can leave you gasping for another reason.
While the actors did a good to excellent job, the real star of this film is the visual imagery, including set design, costume design, and special effects. The story line holds together surprisingly well, and you do end up caring about the characters. But there are some disturbing scenes that will be very, very hard to forget. While glad to have viewed it once, Scuttles will probably not revisit this film for some time.
