Under Siege 2
The cook is back. This is a fun blow-em-up, shoot-em-up of a film, very similar to the previous Under Siege. This time it takes place on a train instead of a boat, and once again, our hero just happens to be at the wrong place at the wrong time... or perhaps it is the right place at the right time?
In any case, the bad guy is a super genius type with a nasty satellite weapon, and he is of course selling mayhem to the highest bidder. Our hero manages to monkey up his plans in a variety of ways, including by using an Apple Newton PDA along the way. To add suspense, the hero's niece is along for the ride, and we go through the usual Hostage scene. But she is not all helplessness, which I like to see in a movie. Women can fight back too!
We are treated to plenty of martial arts fighting in a variety of unusual places, including on top of a moving train and while hanging off the side of a cliff. There are a number of gun battles as well, and a satisfying big boom of an ending.
Don't look for subtly here. Just enjoy the action.
