Vampires Among Us - Rosemary Ellen Guiley
What a disappointment!
The blurb reads "The surprising story of real-life vampires in the 20th century." The premise is sound... it grabs your attention and I became interested in what their research would reveal. But the execution of the "research", the writing and the editing is so bad the the book became too excruciating to read. It appears to be a sloppy compilation of letters and verbal reports from a number of people, rather than the voice of one researcher and writer. (Even the font changes from time to time in the book, as if cobbled together from a variety of sources.)
The few bits I was able to wade through were somewhat disturbing, so I gave it three skulls. But overall, this book is not recommended.
