Mel
Ghostly Graveyard Caretaker
My dad has told my this story a few times, and I love to hear about it. When my dad was in his older teens, he and a friend went driving through an old cemetery that was located really near his house. He told me that a bunch of kids would go there and knock over the headstones and do stuff like that. My dad and his friend would go there and put them back up, and try to fix things.
Well, it was night time and they were sitting in the car talking when my dad looked in the rear view mirror and saw a light moving. The friend was scared and wanted to leave, but my dad thought it was just the back lights of his car reflecting off of a tombstone. So he turned his car off, expecting the lights to disappear. They didn't.
They watched as the light got closer, and my dad explained it as "a man walking, holding a flashlight and slightly swinging his arms" except there was no man. The light kept getting closer, so my dad turned the car on and drove down to the entrance of the cemetery. They watched the light following them the whole time.
The light followed them all the way to the entrance, and when they pulled out of the cemetery. they looked back and the light had stopped at the cemetery. entrance and just stayed there. That experience freaked my dad out, but not as much as my friend. His friend said he never wanted to go back there, and he never did (at least not with my dad).
(A ghostly caretaker or overactive teenage imagination? You decide.)
