Searcher with the Lantern

Hi!

I found your web page very informative and interesting, I have seen a ghost myself. It is located in Big Sandy TN. I did not believe the stories until I saw it.

There is a tiny remote road in this town, there is no people around for a ways. What people do to see the ghost is drive down this little dirt path that is hooded in trees and it dead ends about a mile in (bordered by an old set of train tracks). When you get almost to the end you have to turn your car around and put on your parking lights. When you do, you will see a strange green light (kind of like the center flame of a lighter) that moves up and down, and changes shape. If you are not careful it will come toward your car, when it does you turn on your parking lights and it goes away.

The time I went it did not go away when we turned on the parking lights.

The legend is that someone was hit by the train, and you can still see them searching the dark woods with a lantern. It does look an awful lot like someone with a lantern. Coyotes howl as soon as the light pops up.

Very scary.
